kids love their cartoons. eating veggies – not so much.
so when laleh mohmedi – a mum from melbourne, australia decided to mix the two and make it interesting, it was something out of a fairytale. literally.
one fine day, she created a lion out of her son’s pancakes and her son – jacob loved it. but then when she posted it on facebook, her friends loved it even more and encouraged her to start an instagram page dedicated to this form of art.
and that’s how ‘jacob’s food diaries’ was born.
within a month, the page went viral with her food art and laleh was a global social media star. case in point – celebrity chef, jamie oliver follows her on instagram. over time she has been featured on cbs, abc, the today show in the united states of america and australia, sunrise, ellen, martha stewart and many, many more.
over time, jacob’s food diaries has food portraits of celebs like michael jackson, david bowie, helena bonham carter as the red queen in alice in wonderland, mike from monsters inc, and pinocchio. but ask her about her favourite creation and she’ll say, it has to be carl from the movie ‘up’.
the thing that caught our eye, was that laleh only uses fresh ingredients and loads of veggies in almost all of her food art. a pretty interesting way to get kids to eat their food and their veggies.
