cakes should be sweet and cute and elegant, they said. and they were for many centuries. till the time an architect from ukraine took a look at them and started to wonder.
this question changed dinara kasko’s life. a girl who graduated from the university of architecture and design and who has worked as an architect-designer and 3d visualizer. a girl who is now a successful pastry chef in ukraine.
for a person trained in design, dinara knew the importance of aesthetics in everyday life. and she wanted to infuse these architectural design principles into something sweet. with this in mind, she went about creating moulds on a 3d printer and then started creating cakes in shapes that make you think of designs that fit perfectly in a contemporary art gallery.
but take a bite and you’ll recognise the ingredients. sponge cake, chocolate mousse, berry confit, shortcrust dough and meringue. we’re quite sure they taste just as nice as they look.
