some of us have shitty days. sometimes weeks. some of us go out for a drink to get over the shitty times. some eat.
and then there are a few who write down our thoughts in our diaries.
and then there are those who write poems about their thoughts.
but there are just a handful who write poems using fridge magnets. rusty epstein is one such person. he creates these really interesting poems using fridge magnets that capture just how well or how badly his day went. or what he is thinking about. it could be about friendship, politics – especially the republicans and even about love.
in the beginning, epstein used to try and write one poem a day; but let’s be honest that is difficult. he said, “it exhausted a lot of my creativity pretty quickly.” so nowadays, he sets aside a block of time each week and devotes it to creating as many poems as he can, allowing him to maintain a backlog of material to post on days when he’s feeling a little burnt out.
