people have conversations in comics. which means, comics are meant to have words. it’s really that simple. right?
but then imagine a comic that has no words. a comic that makes it’s point just by it’s visuals. would that comic even make sense. or be even half as funny.
we stumbled upon david daneman – a graphic artist from vancouver, canada who creates a silent comic series called ‘the danemen’. he takes everyday life situations, the kind that all of us experience and gives it an unexpected humorous twist.
all without saying a word.
david’s comic have a unique style too. he doesn’t just get his pen and paper out of his bag and start scribbling. he first photographs himself as the main character in a situation, in his comic strip. he then uses a technique called rotoscoping to turn it into a comic strip. the result looks quite refreshing.
