power washers and driveway art by dianna wood

not all of us, love cleaning. especially if the space that needs to be cleaned is way too big for comfort.

but then dianna wood is not like most of us. a north carolina resident, dianna knows a thing or two about cleaning. more precisely power cleaning.

she said it all started one day, when she realised that the driveway needed to be cleaned. and doing it was probably a whole day’s work. that when she decided to make it fun. and with a power washer that her husband had bought her, she started writing words on her dirty driveway by using the power washer to remove the dirt to reveal a lighter background.

but she wasn’t done yet and went on to draw cardinals, dogwood blossoms, butterflies and many other kinds of flora and fauna.

when asked, how does she do this, she said “i use the power washer wand (free hand – no stencils) like a giant spray paint can. i raise and lower the tip of the wand to achieve different gradations. it uses water pressure to clean away the deep-down dirt on the cement leaving an image where the cement is clean. these designs will fade over time but; it is super easy for me to go back over them and ‘freshen up’ the ‘clean’.”

here are a few of her works of driveway art. you can also follow her on her blog.
