art comes in all shapes and sizes. and most often than not, it doesn’t even need a real canvas. just about any surface will do.
take ruby silvious for instance. a new york based artist who captures her daily musings on a used tea bag. you read it right – a visual diary on a tea bag.
it all started in 2015, when she started a project called 363 days of tea – a visual daily record of her impression of the moment. what it meant was that for 363 days, she emptied out a tea bag and created a painting on it. this project led her to creating a coffee table book called 363 days of tea – a visual journal on used tea bags.
since then she has created a series while in japan called 26 days of tea in japan and one in france called 26 days of tea in france.
here are a few of ruby’s tea bag art pieces. you can follow her work on her website, on instagram, facebook and twitter.
